BBC Top Gear Programme helps launch Gay Cruising network in UK
An interesting Evening Standard article quotes Joel Simkhai, founder of Grindr the Gay Location Based Mobile Community, claiming that a mention by Jeremy Clarkson and Stephen Fry on the BBC Top Gear Programme (reported here on the 3G Dating Agency Blog) has led to the sign up of 30,000 new members.
NOTE: The “Grindr” application is an 18+ NOT SUITABLE FOR WORK gay cruising community.

Interesting – although some users have had issues using Grindr due to over-moderation (imagine! Creating a gay cruising oriented app and wanting to keep it family friendly!), I still think it has a good future ahead of it.
